A small compact easy to use legal PMR radio with a special feature. When you transmit the receiving radio lights up with a very bright green LED ring. This can be seen right across a room so you know someone is calling. When in standby mode this ring will flash every now and then letting you know the radio is working. The radio also has a large extra PTT button on the front making it easy for people with a disability to use. For these reasons the RT618 would be an ideal care radio. I managed a good range in local testing. As with all PMR radios they will work better in open ground but you should get 300-500 meters in a semi built up area. The built in batteries lasted well during full testing and re charged quickly. Overall a good buy.
