RB87 High Performance 5W GMRS Handheld Radio

I received the radios, and they work great. My friends and I use them while driving, so we can talk to each other between cars. The range is very impressive. Even in the city, with skyscrapers, we can communicate from around 5km away. I might be interested in an earpiece for mine, what kinds do you offer? I just got back from a cruise test driving the RB87 radio. They are better than Motorola's 2-watt Talk About radios work better, but are still not good enough to communicate from one end of the boat to the other letter. I think it will take more than 5 watts to pass the boat.

I want to start by saying that I’m editing my review because the company made my issues right and I’m extremely happy with these . I got these for work as my team REALLY needs walkie talkies and we need 7 to be precise figured I’d just hang onto the extras in case they got damaged as it is a shop environment. I drove my car almost a FREAKING MILE away and could still hear my team loud and clear through multiple buildings and 3 whole city blocks. These things have range like I’ve never seen before. We have concrete and steel buildings on site and have zero interference. My only complaint is that the ear piece that comes with them is an earbud style that must be inserted into the ear rather than the kind that hooks over the top of the ear and just rests over the ear, which makes it difficult to use them because we need to be able to hear really well what’s going on in our surroundings as well. So we just use them without the ear pieces. Also the clips where they clip to your waistband or wherever, do not rotate so you have to clip them on vertically which is just a minor complaint. Aside from that I would 10/10 recommend these to anyone who needs a good set of walkie talkies. These would also be great for car enthusiasts who travel in packs and also people who ride jet skis, wave runners or go boating with friends. These are excellent for more than just work.

Everything comes in each kit. Neat spy ear piece, battery pack, charging cables as it takes its own odd shaped connector. The range is really good. Tested it with 1 person inside and the other walking outside to at least half block away, and it was still loud and clear through buildings etc. Could of Tested it further, but that was all that was needed.. over all really impressed. You get 10 sets in this order. Don't need that many, but I guess backups are always cool incase a battery wears out on a long gig, etc. Can just then swap in a fresh charged set.

These will work exactly as intended. Solid design. I've run 6 of the 10 so far, and some have taken a beating, and everything has worked as desired/intended. These are not designed for long range "tactical" use. These are best employed on job sites, camp sites, small venue security. As long as you work within the intended parameters these things are pretty great.

Download the programming software from the retevis official website, you need to cancel the privacy code yourself, which is not satisfactory, but 5w high power radio, long range radio

This is an impressive set of Retevis RB87 5W Work Walkie Talkies with Earpiece and Mic, GMRS Commercial 2 Way Radios, Long Range Two Way Radios. They are very clear with little to no static, within range. We tested the range and they started to have a squelching noise around 1.4 miles, driving through our little town, (no street lights, one gas station) but as the crow flies it measured .98 mile. 4 stars because I wish the range would have been longer, but these will work for the most part, except when we go 4-wheeling, to talk to camp. I like that they are rechargeable, saving on the cost of replacing batteries. They are simple and easy to use. The earpiece is very nice when out camping, hunting, or fishing and I'm sure the range would be much farther without the interference you get in a populated area. These would also be great at construction sites, concerts, county fairs, and amusement parks. We will be putting them in our emergency kit in case the power goes out and the cell phones eventually die. Overall, they seem heavy-duty and reliable. The sound quality is clear at a decent range. I feel these are affordable options for the uses listed above.C

No Programming Software Available. I bought a ten pack and they are as good as bricks without the ability to program. They are not compatible with other GMRS radios because they come programmed with privacy codes that you can not uninstall because the software does not support these radios yet.
